Vivaldi - Gloria
St Martin's Church, Salisbury
Saturday 28th March 2026, 7.30pm

Antonio Vivaldi's ever-popular setting of the Gloria is the highlight of our spring concert. It was written in Venice around 1715, and sparkles as brightly as the sun on the waters of La Serenissima.
The programme includes lots more glorious choral music such as Britten's Hymn to St Cecilia (in the year of the 50th anniversary of his death), and Gorecki's Totus tuus. Completing the selection are partsongs by Bairstow and his pupil Finzi.

Gorecki - Totus tuus
Bairstow - Music, when soft voices die
Bairstow - Sweet day, so cool
